Precious Paws opened its doors July 7, 1997 in our current location, which is located in the heart of downtown Rockmart. We are just before the stop sign at the end of the one way street and two doors before McDurmon's Lawn Mower Shop on the right hand side.
After more than 13 years in business, Precious Paws is well established with a good reputation. Our salon is designed on an open floor plan, (something we are very proud of). This is so you can observe your pet's enitre grooming process, as they are recieving the best care.
Word of mouth has been, and continues to be, our best form of advertisment. In March 2008 after a large scale remodel, we opened again as a full service SPA. We are proud to call ourselves a green company. We take pide in our search to only use and offer the best all natural products for your pets.
At Precious Paws, we promise to do everything we can to make your pets' visit a pleasant experience.
A little about your groomer....
Hi! My name is Kellie. As of June 2000, I became sole owner and groomer of Precious Paws, but have been apart of the daily operations of the salon since its opening in 1997. I reside in Rockmart with my husband and our two children. I hold two black belts in Tang So Do. In 1998 I graduated from Rockmart High School with honors and chose to continue my education at Floyd College in Rome, Ga. After recieveing my Associate of Science Degree in Biology, I attended the University of West Ga. where I earned a Bachlors of Science degree in Biology (pre-vet/pre-med). I am a supporter of our community and strive to be a positive presence as a representative of my business as well as a citizen. I now hold a postion on the Board of Directors for the Floyd College/Georgia Highlands Alumni Association. I have held the position of Presidentof the Rockmart Business Alliance, which serves to promote and preserve our historic downtown area, since August 2007. I am also an active member of the Polk Co. I accepted a position on the Eastside Elementry School Council for the 2008 and 2009 school years. In 2007 I was awarded a Community Champion Award for service to our county by the Chamber of Commerce. Precious Paws was named 2008 Small Business of the Year in Jan. 2009.
I am an avid supporter of our communtiy functions. Precious Paws donates monies and gifts to local charites and activites that benefit our children.
"It is my belief that if want a nice place to live, we must help to make it so." In Jan. 2009 I took a postion as a member of the Polk Co. Animal Control Board of Directors, which serves to ensure that our animal control officers are recieving updated training to better serve the need in our community.
I recieved my grooming training at the Pet Boutique School of Pet Grooming in Atlanta Ga. via Ron Brooks and his staff as well as from my mother Bettye Upton. I am a registered and active member of the National Dog Groomers Association of America, where I partipate in frequent continued education on the latest styles and health information. In March 2009 I was awarded the title National Certified Terrier Groomer by the NDGAA after rigerous testing. To accompany this title, in 2010 I earned my National Certification in all Non-Sporting breeds as well. I am a current member of the ASPCA which works to prevent crulety to animals. I have recently begin to host a school program targeting elementry age children to teach them empathy toward animals, pet saftey and proper care. My personal motto is that only when we learn can we grow, therefore I continue to research my trade and all areas associated with it to be a better source of information and education for my clients. If I dont know the answer to a question, I will find it for you.
I am very passionate about my business and the care of the animals who come thru my door. If you are unhappy with any part of my service, attention and resolution concerning the matter will be immediate.
